Spray foam was used for a lot of years as insulation for floors, especially in Europe. Because it has a high thermal resistance it can be thinner than other insulation materials. For floors i can only be used closed-cell spray foam because it is higher density and also offers a vapor barrier for the humidity than comes from the foundation.
